Political assassination

B. Bhutto is dead. Her assassination was not really unexpected. The prospect of her almost certain election frightened too many powerful interests. It's likely that we will never know exactly who was behind her killing. One can speculate about who would benefit the most from her death but that won't finger who conspired to kill her.

There are rumors on the internet about conspirators planning to kill Ron Paul. I wonder if some of the same people who would like to see Ron Paul dead were involved with the conspiracy to kill Benazir Bhutto.

The death of Bhutto ended any hope for democracy in Pakistan for many years. The election of Ron Paul may well be the last hope for the survival of constitutional democracy in the United States.

I suggest that it is time for men and women of faith, regardless of denomination, to pray for an end to political killings and an end to political corruption and an end to government by dictatorial thugs.
