tv for turkeys

Thanks for the comments. You may have noticed by now that I don't know much about Blogger, or how to use its many features. But I'll learn.

A couple of more comments about tv. First of all, I'm not interested in having some person or committe decide what should be shown on the idiot box. There are all sorts of ways to shut off the garbage if you don't want it in your living room. A lot of stuff that's shown in prime time today is not suitable for children's viewing, in my opinion. But that is a parental problem. It is the parent's responsibility to teach, guide and sometimes compell their own kid's viewing. Just as it is the parent's job to all the other things that are involved with raising a child. That is not the proper place for the government or some group of well-intentioned busybodies to stick their noses in. More on this subject in another post, if I get around to it.

I have two satellite dishes. An hour ago I checked out what was available. On both dishes there was not one program that I wanted to watch, so I shut off the thing and decided to write a blog. At least, when I'm writing my own drivel I get to determine the subject and content.

There are a lot of other venues where I believe that government and other people should just butt out. I'll get around to some of them as the world turns. We have far too many laws, and not enough justice. (I refer only to Canada . Citizens of other jurisdictions can speak for their own compost heap.) For example, I hear that it may soon be illegal to ride a bicycle in Alberta without wearing a helmet. Now, I have no problem with people wearing helmets, if they want to. I do have a problem with some bunch of jerks (the members of the Alberta legislature) telling me that I MUST wear one.
