Ban Handguns? No, Ban Paul Martin from Ottawa!

I wonder. Is Paul martin actually that poorly informed on the subject of handguns? (I was going to say "stupid" but I'm being Mr. Nice today). Doesn't he know that handguns have been banned since Sir Wilfrid Laurier was a school boy? Except for police and a few other exceptions, no one in Canada now can legally own a handgun except a collector or member of a gun club. They have to be locked in a gun safe, unloaded, and when transported they must be in a locked case in the trunck of the car or other place away from the driver...and of course they must be unloaded.

Doesn't Paul Martin know these basic facts?

Anyway, regardless of what Martin knows or doesn't know, his announced Ban on Handguns has gone over like a lead balloon. The Deputy-Chief of the Vancouver Police Service stated that Martin's proposals won't change anything or do any good.

So once again, just like with the Firearms registry fiasco the Liberal government is taking dead aim at the decent, law-abiding citizens of Canada. Or does Martin believe that if he passes a law against the ownership of handguns that all of the nice little criminals will line up to hand over their guns?

Canada needs another Martin Liberal Government about as badly as I need the Bird Flu!!
